After years of exile, the General Commander of the Great Syrian Revolt, Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, accompanied by ministers and a team of senior mujahideen, visited the Republican Palace at the palace of the reformist Ottoman Wali Hussein Nazim Pasha.

The President of the Syrian Republic, Hashim Bey al-Atassi, received them in the palace foyer with warmth and honors, while their procession was escorted to and from the palace by scouts from the Ghouta Scout Troop and the Maysalun Scout Troop, in addition to the Iron Shirts as an honorary honor guard accompanying them.

Decorative flags and electric lights filled the streets and squares, and the people were filled with joy and happiness at their return to their motherland, safe and sound, unharmed by the years of exile and wandering through the vast deserts in search of a safe haven from their plight.

It is noted that Sultan Pasha al-Atrash and his companions returned to Syria on May 18, 1937.
