Young music teacher Bushra Kamal Al-Afif moved away from the traditional way of presenting music lessons, making them more engaging for students through her style and methods, in line with her success in nurturing talent in a choir she founded, as well as writing songs for children.

The teacher, a graduate of the Music Institute in As-Suwayda, said that "the idea of establishing the choir stemmed from her keenness to spread joy among children, enhance their creative potential, highlight the importance of music in their lives, improve their auditory taste, and present them in a distinguished collective manner by performing various songs and musical pieces, in addition to dance performances."

Bushra, 38, added that she "began establishing the choir in 2020 at the Martyr Munir Ballan School in the city of As-Suwayda. It began to develop gradually and today includes about 50 talented individuals," explaining how she participated through it in many events across the province, including the first Heritage Festival in As-Suwayda, the closing ceremony of the Young Reader competition, the Children's Creative Cultural Forum, and other concerts.

The young woman, Bushra, mentioned that she wrote five songs for children: "Greetings to My Teacher," "My Sweet Mom," "The Arabic Language," "Childhood Melody," and "My Library," which they sang to melodies inspired by childhood music and international music.

Bushra, who is proficient in playing more than one musical instrument and also possesses a beautiful vocal quality, especially in performing children's songs and traditional music, did not limit her role to the choir she founded. She also linked music lessons with a practical aspect to form a classroom musical band, making the subject more appealing to them.

Bushra hopes, if the necessary support for the choir is achieved, to develop it for the better, expand its participation externally, and attract a larger number of talents to it, especially with the encouragement she receives from the school and the parents.
