A large delegation of UNIFIL officers and personnel visited Sheikh Wissam Sleika, advisor to the Sheikh Al-Aql of the Unitarian Druze Community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, in the town of Fardis.
They expressed their appreciation for His Eminence the Sheikh Al-Aql, his constant guidance, and his significant national role, and thanked Sheikh Sleika for dealing with the reality of the region and the South with wisdom and discernment, and for his constant efforts to solve the problems faced by the people of the region.
In turn, Sheikh Sleika conveyed the appreciation of His Eminence the Sheikh Al-Aql, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, to UNIFIL for its major role on all humanitarian, social, and health levels, and for providing people with a sense of security and reassurance through patrols and their constant presence alongside the people. He also noted the appreciation of the Sheikhs of the Hasbaya region for UNIFIL's role.
It was agreed to maintain continuous communication for the service of the community.
