Dr. Engineer Rabee Rustum, a native of As-Suwayda Governorate, has received the Academic Society Award, one of the 'Oscars' of the British “Heriot-Watt” University, at a ceremony held in Dubai.

Heriot-Watt University is a public research university based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was founded in 1821 as the Edinburgh School of Arts, the world's first mechanics institute, and was later granted university status under a Royal Charter in 1966.

The university is also considered the eighth oldest higher education institution in the United Kingdom, and its name is derived from the Scottish inventor James Watt and the Scottish philanthropist and goldsmith George Heriot.

It is worth noting that the university has had a branch in the Emirate of Dubai since 2006.
