His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received Mr. Walid Jumblatt at the Lusail Palace in Doha, accompanied by the head of the Democratic Gathering and the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, Mrs. Nora Jumblatt, and Democratic Gathering member MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan, in the presence of the Lebanese Ambassador to Qatar, Mrs. Farah Berri.
The regional situation was discussed, as well as a review of the situation on the Palestinian arena, the war on Gaza, the escalating situation in the West Bank, and the Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, in addition to the Lebanese situation and the crisis that Lebanon is going through.
Jumblatt praised the efforts and the role played by the State of Qatar through its continuous initiatives for a ceasefire in Gaza and standing by the Palestinian cause. He also valued its role within the Quintet Committee to assist Lebanon in overcoming the presidential crisis.
