His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, met at the community house in Beirut today with businessman Ramzi Salman, accompanied by Sheikh Salim Ghannam.
He also met with the Cultural Committee of the Confessional Council, in the presence of the Director of the Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut, Rami Al-Rayyes, Confessional Council member Sheikh Sami Abdel Khaleq, and Dr. Laila Abu Shaqra, in the framework of preparing for the conference on Prince Shakib Arslan.
Chanieh
His Eminence the Sheikh Akl had previously received at his residence in Chanieh the director of the Shamlan Center at the Islamic Orphanage, Hadia Jaber, to extend an invitation to dinner on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
He also received Dr. Suhail Matar from the University of Balamand in Souk El Gharb, to extend an invitation to His Eminence to a celebration on the tenth anniversary of the university's founding.
He also received Sheikh Abu Muhammad Saleh Shuqair from Aiha, Sheikh Fouad Zaidan and sheikhs from the family from Ruwaisat Al-Ballout, and Sheikh Muhammad Matar from Majdalya.
Delegates
His Eminence the Sheikh Akl delegated the head of the Cultural Committee of the Confessional Council, Sheikh Imad Faraj, along with a delegation of sheikhs, to represent him at a spiritual gathering held in the courtyard of the "Noble Shrine" (Al-Maqam Al-Sharif) in Sharoun, under his patronage and at the invitation of the "Alya Charitable Society". The event featured an opening speech by Sheikh Faraj and a lecture by Sheikh Salman Shaya, titled "Virtue in the Spiritual Society".
He also delegated his advisor, Confessional Council member Sheikh Fadi Al-Attar, to represent him at a student gathering at the Raouf Abi Ghanem School in Kfarnabrakh, Chouf, where he delivered a guiding speech on the occasion.
His Eminence also delegated Confessional Council members Mr. Osama Dhabyan and Mr. Zaher Radwan to represent him at the Italian National Day celebration at the embassy headquarters in Beirut.
