The Druze Unitarian Community Council in Lebanon, headed by His Eminence Sheikh Akl Sami Abi Al-Muna, called for responsiveness to national initiatives to stop the paralysis of institutions and end the presidential vacuum.

The Council stated in a release that its administration held its monthly meeting under the chairmanship of His Eminence Sheikh Akl, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, at the Community House in Beirut, and discussed council-related issues and general national affairs connected to current developments, issuing the following statement:

First: The Council paused at certain interventions and discussions taking place on social media and dialogue platforms that deviate from the logic of Monotheism (Tawhid) and the Ma'roufi path, including destructive propositions, allegations, and slanders that undermine the identity of the Druze Unitarians and their Islamic and Arab affiliation. They are Muslims by faith, and Unitarians by sect and practice, influenced by philosophy, Sufism, gnosis, and the truths of all religions. They enter into the depth of the truth of Islam, which is the religion in the sight of God, as they are the people of Monotheism and Excellence, adhering to the truth of Islam and faith. The Council affirms that no one who has not lived the happiness of the creed and the path has the right to lecture on virtue, religion, and identity. It is not permissible for anyone to claim to define the religious and historical identity of the Unitarians as they please, with all due respect to persons and freedoms. No site has the right to open spaces for discussion about the religious identity of the sect to pass judgments on it and define it as they wish; that is the task of the Sheikhdom of Akl and the spiritual authorities entrusted with the path of Monotheism, its spiritual treasures, and the ethical Ma'roufi values—without whom, and without the Druze Unitarian leaders, the sect would be vulnerable to fragmentation and disappearance, the creed to distortion, and society to dissolution. While the Council warns misleading or misguided voices and their supporters of the need to desist and stop such miserable attempts to undermine the Druze Unitarian community, "Bani Ma'rouf," for malicious purposes by some or ignorance and claims by others, it calls on those who have questions to direct them to the appropriate and responsible authority. Religion and societal values have never been a game on a table for discussion and arguments in spaces devoid of standards and constraints. It also calls for the necessity of adhering to boundaries and respecting protocols, while reserving the right of the Sheikhdom of Akl and the Community Council to pursue, prosecute, and punish the offenders and claimants if necessary.

Second: The Council noted the indicators of Israeli escalation on the southern border and its dangerous implications, with the expansion of hostilities that threaten the potential for field confrontations to spiral out of control at any time. It calls on international and regional parties to exert actual pressure on the Zionist enemy, which ignores United Nations resolutions and persists in committing massacres in Palestine and violating international resolutions, especially 1701, which pushes toward a destructive war if the international community does not put an end to it.

Third: The Council calls on all Lebanese political forces to respond to the national initiatives recently proposed and to internal and external efforts aimed at reaching a consensus, reflecting the extent of hopes pinned on proponents of dialogue to overcome obstacles and rigid positions, and to meet to address pending crises in a spirit of optimism to dispel fears and achieve what serves the nation and the future of its children.

Fourth: The Council expresses its deep concern regarding the continued resulting constitutional crisis and the prevailing vacuum that holds the entire state hostage to regional developments, while Lebanon, governed by a presidential vacuum, institutional paralysis, and the disintegration of authority, seeks a quick solution that spares the nation the evils of further collapse and drifting toward the unknown.

Fifth: The Council calls again for adherence to the National Taif Agreement document stipulated in the Constitution to protect Lebanon, affirm its Arab identity, regulate relations between its components, and preserve its national unity. While calling for an understanding on practical mechanisms to ensure the implementation of all its provisions, it warns at the same time of the danger of infiltration by partitionist proposals and goals to alter the political system to undermine the document that cost the Lebanese many sacrifices.

Sixth: The Council extends its congratulations to all Muslims and particularly to the members of the sect on the approaching days of the blessed Eid al-Adha, hoping that the "Ten Days" and the Eid will bring goodness to the Unitarian community and the Islamic nation, and that this annual occasion will be a space and a renewed opportunity for all to consolidate faith in hearts, advance in the journey of life for the better, and achieve the true peace that humanity seeks, starting from our threatened homeland and wounded Palestine, reaching every corner of our Arab and Islamic countries and the entire world.
