The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia announced that Friday, 1/12/1445 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to June 7, 2024, is the first day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, and the standing at Arafah will be on Saturday, 9/12/1445 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to June 15, and Eid al-Adha will be the following Sunday.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Supreme Court, which read: The Crescent Committee at the Supreme Court held a session this evening, Thursday, the twenty-ninth of Dhu al-Qi'dah for the year 1445 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 6/6/2024, to consider the reports regarding the sighting of the crescent moon of Dhu al-Hijjah for this year 1445 AH. After reviewing all the reports received, considering them, and reflecting on them, and in view of what was contained in Supreme Court decision No. (182/H) dated 1/11/1445 AH that Thursday, 1/11/1445 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 9/5/2024 is the first day of the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah for this year 1445 AH, and because a number of credible witnesses testified to seeing the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah tonight; the Committee decides that tomorrow, Friday, 1/12/1445 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to June 7, 2024, is the first day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, and the standing at Arafah will be on Saturday, 9/12/1445 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to June 15, and Eid al-Adha will be the following Sunday.
