The following statement was issued by the Sheikhdom of the Aql of the Unitarian Druze community in Lebanon on the occasion of Eid al-Adha:
The Sheikhdom of the Aql in Lebanon congratulates all Unitarians and all Muslims on the arrival of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah and its blessed ten days, hoping that these days and nights will be a path to reaching the supreme Eid, with the meanings of acceptance, sacrifice, renewal of repentance, praise, and gratitude it carries, and a gateway to drawing closer to God Almighty through supplication, prayer, and remembrance, and a door to doing good and uniting, and a call to believers to purify intentions, cleanse souls, sharpen determination, and join hands for the benefit of souls, the reform of society, the advancement of homelands, and the cohesion of the nation, announcing the start of the ten days of Eid (the Al-Ushur), the first of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1445 AH, on the seventh of June 2024 AD, and the arrival of Eid al-Adha, the tenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, on the sixteenth of this current June.
