Continuing its support for all literary, intellectual, and artistic works in Lebanon, the "Fine Arts Workshop Association for Culture and Arts" in Rashaya has launched a book by Aaiha village native, in the Rashaya Al-Wadi district, Sheikh Salim Ali Abu Latif, titled (My Father, Abu Jamil), in his hometown of Aaiha.
Association President Shawqi Dalal stated on the occasion: "Today I come to the dear town of Aaiha to receive blessings and knowledge from the home of an educated and faithful Sheikh. Sheikh Salim Ali Abu Latif, author of the book 'My Father, Abu Jamil', is a man of eighty-six years who has spent most of his life studying Arabic literature, whether traditional or modern, and taking an interest in the contents of dictionaries and encyclopedias, including interpretations, knowledge, and notable figures. He has been a constant friend to books long before drawing from the reservoir of his vivid memory to write the biography of his father, Sheikh Abu Jamil Ali Abu Latif. It is a biography worth reading, as it delights the reader and heritage enthusiast with a compelling narrative about the values of our noble ancestors who left marks of nobility, love, loyalty, and pride on the pages of the earth. All greetings to Sheikh Salim, who taught us what willpower is and that age is not measured by the number of years, but by what one produces during one's lifetime. The publication of this book at the age of eighty-six is proof of this—may God grant him a long life."
For his part, the author Sheikh Salim Abu Latif thanked the Association President Shawqi Dalal for his visit and for embracing the book. The author provided an explanation of the significant milestones of his father, Sheikh Ali Ahmed Hammoud Abu Latif, contained in the book, covering his time in Wadi Al-Taym, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon at the beginning of the last century and the events that accompanied them.
