A study project submitted by As-Suwayda native, Pharmacist Dr. Loubna Jamil Hatem, was approved at the Hopipharm conference in the city of Le Havre in the Normandy region of France, regarding improving the productivity of cancer drug doses.

Hatem stated that she submitted two projects to the Hopipharm conference; the first was presented at the conference to hundreds of pharmacists, and the second was a study circulated to French hospitals on improving cancer dose productivity and implementing solutions through a two-dimensional approach. She explained that the goal of the study is to find solutions that respect the limited capabilities of the cancer dose production unit to increase productive efficiency, eliminate waste of time, and maintain high quality throughout the production process.

She added that one of the solutions she proposed is based on standardizing the concentration range of cancer doses for drugs that allow such standardization (standardized doses), noting that the study was circulated to hospitals in France for implementation in cancer dose production units. This is part of the specializations she completed in the oncology unit in order to qualify for hospital pharmacy certification in France, representing a ten-year study.

She also indicated that the implementation of this study allows hospitals to improve productivity and maintain the quality of doses in terms of composition, safety, precision, and patient well-being. She pointed out that production at the Centre hospitalier d'agglomération montargis hospital, where she works, was 12,000 doses annually and has currently reached approximately 17,000 doses, with production still increasing while maintaining efficiency. The increase is due to rising demand, and because it was disproportionate to the limited capabilities, she proposed these solutions.

It is noteworthy that Pharmacist Loubna Hatem is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Damascus University, resides in France, worked at Pasteur Hospital in the city of Cherbourg in Normandy, and specialized in oral oncology drugs, immunological disease drugs, clinical pharmacy, and AIDS medications. She obtained a diploma that qualified her to work in French pharmacies, along with a certificate of appreciation and commendation from the scientific committee.
