Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, stated that “the major challenges facing our country and the entire region must be met with strong will, in an effort to mitigate their impact on our society as a whole, especially since Lebanon is going through the most difficult stages of its existence, facing fateful turning points that require the concerted efforts of sincere national forces to overcome harsh circumstances, cross toward gradual breakthroughs, and restore the required economic balance through the necessary dialogue to save the country, which should prevail during the current phase and not the contrary.”
Sheikh Akl thanked the Council of Ministers, headed by Mr. Najib Mikati, for approving the decree submitted by the Minister of Justice regarding the transfer and appointment of judges in the Druze sectarian courts.
At his residence in Shanay, Sheikh Akl met with the Secretary of the Democratic Gathering bloc, MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan, and they discussed a number of issues on both the internal and general levels.
He also received expatriate Fahd Shaaban, accompanied by Mukhtar Nadim and Imad Shaaban.
Sheikh Abi Al-Muna received a congratulatory telegram for the blessed Eid al-Adha from the Patriarch of the Armenian Catholic Church, Catholicos Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian.
He also received a congratulatory call from the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Trade, and Industry, MP Dr. Farid Boustany, journalist Warda Al-Zamel, and others.
Sheikh Akl apologized for not receiving Eid congratulations at the Community House in Beirut, given the difficult circumstances our countries, especially Lebanon and Palestine, are going through. Instead, he will receive visitors at his residence in Shanay on Monday, the second day of Eid, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
