The “Kamal Jumblatt Intellectual Association” held its annual ceremony, honoring a group of figures who provided an outstanding model in their respective professions and left a mark of success in their history.

 

The ceremony, held at the Social Message Hall in Aley, was attended by Dr. Nasser Zeidan, representing Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Taymour Jumblatt; Mounir Barakat, representing the Sheikh Aql of the Druze Unitarian community, Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna; Father Tony Nasr, representing Bishop Selwan Moussa; Father Fadi Sader, representing Bishop Boulos Abdel Sater; Mufti of Mount Lebanon Sheikh Mohammed Ali Al-Jouzou, represented by Sheikh Mohammed Yassin; Minister of Education Judge Abbas Halabi, represented by Dr. Nader Hudaifa; former Minister Ghazi Aridi; former Minister of Finance Dr. Ghazi Wazni; Rami Rayyes, advisor to President Walid Jumblatt; members of the leadership council, commissioners, and internal agents of the Progressive Socialist Party; Mayor of Aley Wajdi Mourad; mayors and mukhtars; members of the diplomatic, military, and administrative corps; representatives of civil and local associations and cultural leagues; and a crowd of attendees and figures following the association's work.

- Media personality Najat Sharafeddine

- Artist Nawal Kamel

 

Following the national anthem, a minute of silence was held to honor the soul of the former Vice President of the Progressive Socialist Party, the struggler Durayd Yaghi. The late media personality Giselle Khoury, who was honored last year, was also commemorated.

Then, the association's president, engineer Wissam Al-Qadi, spoke, highlighting the difficulties faced by the honorees and their peers in Lebanon, as they lack sufficient support from the government to secure their future. He also spoke about the relationship between an association that bears the name of the martyr teacher Kamal Jumblatt and the annual honoring ceremony.

Afterward, words of appreciation and video clips of the honorees were presented, reviewing their honorable professional careers and remarkable achievements.

The honorees provided personal testimonies about the teacher Kamal Jumblatt, praising his dedication and his national and intellectual contributions. They also expressed their gratitude to the association and its organizers for their great role in honoring them and recognizing their achievements.

The ceremony also included the distribution of honorary shields and concluded with the opening of a buffet and the taking of commemorative photos.
