The Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze Community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abilmona, held a call with the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Judge Abbas Halabi, during his meeting with a delegation from the Lebanese University Contract Professors Committee, who came to brief him at the Community House in Beirut on the conditions of the university's contract staff, particularly the full-time tenure file. Minister Halabi informed him that he is interested in including the file in the agenda of Cabinet meetings as soon as possible, and the Sheikh Akl expressed his interest in this file with regard to its approval and implementation. This took place in the presence of advisors Sheikh Dr. Nabigh Zebian and Sheikh Dr. Ramzi Sarieddine.
Sheikh Abilmona also received a delegation from the "LDC Association" including: the association's president Ghada Hassan Al-Jardi, Ghada Akl Al-Rayyes, Najat Al-Souqi, and Dr. Fadi Hasib Al-Jardi, to brief him on the conference that the association will hold from July 30 to August 1, which will include religious, social, psychological, and health-related lectures.
He also received the president of the "Hala Sour Cultural and Social Association", writer Dr. Imad Saeed, who presented His Eminence with a collection of his publications, including his twelfth book, "I Walk to My Sorrow Joyfully".
Sheikh Akl held a meeting with the Legal Committee of the Confessional Council, in the presence of its head, lawyer Nashaat Hilal, and its members, to discuss relevant topics.
He also received a delegation of sheikhs from the Abi Faraj family from Choueifat, to brief him on the restoration taking place at the Abi Faraj council. He also received Judge Sheikh Ahmed Darwish Al-Kurdi, in the presence of Sheikhs Hamza Koukash and Rajeh Abdel Khaleq, the Mayor of Chanieh Hussein Abilmona, and a delegation of sheikhs from Ammatour, to invite him to visit the new council in the town.
Among His Eminence's visitors were Dr. Nazih Abu Shahin, Mr. Wajih Sobh, delegate of the Sheikhdom of Akl in Texas, and Mrs. Nada Farhat to brief him on the spiritual summer camp program for expatriate youth; Mr. Kamel Mezher and Mr. Fadi Nasr to coordinate the sponsorship of His Eminence Sheikh Abilmona and the Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi regarding the "First Expatriate Conference for Local Development" which will be held next Thursday the 18th in Hammana; Confessional Council members Mr. Riad Atallah and Mr. Munir Barakat; and Mr. Khaled Shmeit from the Ministry of Public Works, in the presence of the Mayor of Chanieh, Hussein Abilmona.
