The Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, wrote on his “X” page:
The Unitarian Druze community loses today one of the faces of the nation and a prominent figure of the Mountain and its noble families, Sheikh Issam Makarem. We knew him in difficult days as courageous, steadfast, and proud, and we were proud of him in the fields of giving and stances.
We ask for mercy for his soul, and for his family and loved ones, we wish them longevity and that they follow in his footsteps in doing good and righteousness.
