His Eminence the Sheikh Aql of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, met with the Minister of Finance, Dr. Youssef Khalil, accompanied by the Director General of the National Lottery, Hadi Narcha, and the Head of Accounting at the General Directorate of Finance, Mohammed Naji. They discussed the general financial situation of the state and the pressing economic conditions in this regard, in the presence of members of the Druze Council's Board of Directors, Dr. Imad Al-Ghosaini, accounting expert Naji Saab, advisor Sheikh Dr. Ramzi Sarieddine, Director General of the Druze Council Mazen Fayyad, and the Director of the Sheikhdom, Rayan Hassan.
After the meeting, Minister Khalil thanked His Eminence the Sheikh Aql for the warm reception, stating: "The experience of meeting with His Eminence was positive and very important. We exchanged good ideas, especially those that are applicable, discussing the difference between ideas and implementation, and the importance of adopting them. We look forward, along with you, to contributing to the required productivity, and for the state to be more capable of assisting in bringing about change, in light of the current circumstances that are very difficult for citizens, the poor, and people who are unable to see their children in these conditions. From this perspective, we must all cooperate so that our situation becomes easier than it has been in the past years and months."
His Eminence the Sheikh Aql also met with the Mayor of Beirut, Abdallah Darwish, accompanied by Municipal Council member Rami Al-Ghawi and lawyer Ziad Chehab, to update him on the tasks and work being carried out by the municipality. Darwish said: "We were honored to meet with His Eminence the Sheikh Aql, and it was an opportunity to brief His Eminence on the overall situation regarding the municipality and the projects and works it is undertaking at this specific time. We also discussed what needs to be done regarding the demands of the city's residents."
His Eminence Sheikh Abi Al-Muna also met with the Head of the Beirut Bar Association, Fadi Masri, leading a delegation from the Bar Council that included: Secretary Maya Chehab and Meissam Younes, in the presence of lawyers from the Druze Council: Secretary Nizar Al-Barad'i, Head of the Legal Committee Nashaat Hilal, and Dr. Talal Jaber, in addition to lawyers Rita Halawi and Mazen Masri.
After the meeting, the Head of the Bar Association, Masri, stated: "We were honored to meet with His Eminence the Sheikh Aql, Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, and it was an opportunity to discuss national affairs first, as well as issues related to the conditions of courts and the judiciary in Lebanon, and the major files that the Bar is following up on, whether concerning the Beirut Port explosion disaster, bank depositors, or other files of concern to Lebanese public opinion. Achieving progress on these would ease the general situation and restore confidence in Lebanon—a homeland we want to be proud, sovereign, free, and independent. This was a point of consensus with His Eminence the Sheikh, so that we may remain faithful to our mission. The Unitarian Druze community has been the foundation that paved the way for the establishment of the Lebanese entity since the days of Prince Fakhr al-Din until today. We have agreed with His Eminence the Sheikh Aql on permanent coordination to achieve these goals."
His Eminence the Sheikh Aql received a delegation from "Al-Mustafa International University in Lebanon" headed by Sheikh Dr. Mahdavi Mehr, along with a delegation that included: Educational Assistant Dr. Hussein Ibrahim, Academic Assistant Sheikh Al-Akhund, Director of Public Relations Jawad Awada, and Director of Student Affairs Sheikh Baqir Dehini, in a visit to express appreciation for his positions and to brief him on university educational activities.
His Eminence the Sheikh Aql met with the Legal Committee of the Druze Council, in the presence of its head, lawyer Nashaat Hilal, and the council's lawyer.
In Chanieh, His Eminence the Sheikh Aql received a delegation of qualified contract personnel from the Army and security forces to brief him on their demands. He also received a delegation from the Faraj family in Abadieh, led by Dr. Atef Salloum.
