Following the condolences, His Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql described Prime Minister Al-Hoss as a national, moral, and humanitarian icon, telling the media, "We knew him as an example of patriotism, moderate stances, and the values he upheld. We also say that Prime Minister Salim Al-Hoss will be a school for the generations after him. We ask God to have mercy on his soul and hope for this country to recover and be as Salim Al-Hoss wanted it to be."
Jumblatt
On another note, communication took place between His Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql and Mr. Walid Jumblatt regarding the recently held Sectarian Council elections, an assessment of their results, the role and responsibilities placed upon the new council, and the importance of cooperation to activate and develop the work required in this regard.
Bou Assi
His Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql met at the Druze community house in Beirut with member of the "Strong Republic" bloc, MP Pierre Bou Assi. The meeting addressed current developments and issues related to the Mount Lebanon region, in the presence of a delegation of Sheikhs.
After the meeting, MP Bou Assi stated: "I had the honor today to meet with His Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna. I reiterate for the tenth time that His Eminence is the Sheikh Al-Aql of all Lebanese, not just the Druze, through his wisdom and firmness. Lebanon is fortunate to have a spiritual leader like him."
He added: "I raised the risks that Lebanon is going through, especially the structural ones, which threaten the entity of the state and the existence of all components of this country, Christian, Druze, and others. The role is currently confiscated, and I mean here the participation in strategic decisions in the country, so that stability comes first in the institutions. In this area, we are all anxious about the institutions that remain the main source of stability in the state. We agreed on many points, and we are, God willing, hand in hand with all Lebanese components to restore stability to Lebanon, prosperity to its people, and spare Lebanon from the wars occurring in the region, out of compassion for our people, our families, and our homeland."
