His Eminence the Sheikh Aql of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, met with the Acting Director General of General Security, Major General Elias Baissari, who briefed him on general developments and the situation in Lebanon, especially security, as well as matters related to the work of the General Security apparatus at the security and procedural levels, in addition to the vision regarding the displacement file.
The meeting was an occasion during which His Eminence the Sheikh Aql extended congratulations to Major General Baissari, and through him to the General Security institution—its command officers and personnel—on its 79th anniversary. He paid tribute to the souls of the martyrs who fell within its ranks and to all the great sacrifices made in this field to preserve the role and duties entrusted to the institution.
His Eminence also commended "the work carried out by the General Security apparatus in the service of the nation's citizens, especially during the difficult circumstances the country is going through and the challenges it faces. He highlighted General Security's constant efforts, alongside other security agencies and the Army, to provide the necessary stability and alleviate the burden of the crises weighing heavily upon the nation's citizens. This is something that requires practical political, economic, and financial steps from the state to support the resilience of the Lebanese in the face of these existing dangers."
His Eminence Sheikh Abi Al-Muna also met with the head of the "Lebanese Promising Party," Fares Fattouhi, accompanied by lawyers Amir and Amjad Ammar. Fattouhi thanked His Eminence for his national and spiritual stances that unite the general Lebanese level, which we need, as he said, "the language of wisdom, reasonableness, and facing current challenges with a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, standing as one rank to overcome the ordeal the nation is going through with sufficient responsibility." Fattouhi also briefed His Eminence on the project recently launched by the party regarding Syrian displaced persons, within the framework of helping the relevant state agencies organize their status and presence, and the existing cooperation with municipalities in this regard.
