Lawyer Raed Al-Najjar assumed the duties of Secretary of the Druze Confessional Council from Lawyer Nizar Al-Barad'i, who held this position for twelve years.
The handover ceremony took place in the presence of the Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze community, Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, at the community's headquarters in Verdun / Beirut.
Al-Barad'i expressed his thanks to His Eminence the former Sheikh Akl Sheikh Naim Hassan and Sheikh Abi Al-Muna for their unifying national role and the efforts exerted at the community level and in the work of the Confessional Council regarding caring for community affairs, modernizing laws, and developing working mechanisms, affirming his continued support alongside the current Confessional Council, and expressing his appreciation for the work of the Council's committees and the community's headquarters.
Al-Barad'i had held the position of Secretary for two consecutive terms, and throughout his tenure, he worked on modernizing the work of the secretariat and leaving remarkable imprints on the role, tasks, and operating mechanisms of the secretariat, in addition to establishing a public relations network at both the social and organizational levels.
