Sheikh Al-Aql of the Druze Unitarian Community, Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, received at the community headquarters in Beirut the President of the Syriac League and Secretary-General of the Eastern Gathering, Habib Ephrem. The meeting addressed national and general spiritual issues, particularly regarding the conference scheduled to be held soon in Beirut on religious diversity.

He also received the Mayor of Al-Beniyeh, Mr. Shadi Yahya, who presented topics related to municipal affairs and endowments.

Among Sheikh Abi Al-Muna's visitors, in succession, were: Member of the Expatriate Affairs Committee in the Confessional Council Tariq Dhebyan, Dr. Leila Abou Shakra, Mr. Hisham Abou Aram, and the Editor-in-Chief of the “International Arab-European Newspaper” Khaled Zein El-Dine.

A working meeting was also held with the elected Treasurer of the Confessional Council, financial expert Houssam Hamzeh, following the handover process between him and the former treasurer, financial expert Naji Saab.

The Religious Body

Earlier, Sheikh Al-Aql chaired a meeting of the Advisory Religious Body of the Mashyakhat Al-Aql, with the participation of the Head of the Religious Committee in the Confessional Council, Sheikh Asmat Al-Jurdi, and its Rapporteur, Sheikh Nidal Sarieddine. During the meeting, attendees were briefed on the recent Confessional Council elections and evaluated the previous phase, emphasizing continued efforts to serve the Tawhid community and contribute to spreading its culture.

The attendees also affirmed “the necessity of respecting the directives of the venerable and trusted sheikhs by rejecting violations by religiously committed brothers, including taking to the streets and blocking roads regardless of the motives, resorting to the law, adhering to the guidance of the Mashyakhat Al-Aql, and cooperating regarding any incidents that occur.

Deir Baba - Kfarfaqoud

On another note, Sheikh Abi Al-Muna visited the towns of Deir Baba and Kfarfaqoud, accompanied by the two venerable sheikhs Abu Zein El-Dine Hassan Ghannam and Abu Fayez Amin Makarim, alongside an accompanying delegation of sheikhs. The visit began in Deir Baba with visits to Sheikhs Asmat Torbey, Atef Amaneddin, the two brothers Sheikhs Adel and Khaled Torbey, and Sheikh Yahya Torbey.

In Kfarfaqoud, Sheikh Saeed Nasr hosted a broad reception for Sheikh Abi Al-Muna and the accompanying sheikhs, attended by local sheikhs, residents, and social figures from the town. During the reception, Mayor Bassam Nasr and Sheikh Saeed Nasr delivered expressive welcoming remarks.

Sheikh Al-Aql

Sheikh Abi Al-Muna responded with a speech in which he emphasized the importance of social relations and family bonds, especially in the current phase that requires greater harmony. He also commended the people of the town, the Al-Manasif area, and the Mountain in general for remaining rooted in their land and working on it as a cornerstone of existence and strength, alongside primary rootedness in the Tawhid faith, belief, and adherence to Maroufite values, highlighting the role and responsibility of the Confessional Council in this framework.

Condolences were then offered for the late Sheikh Mufid Nasr, concluding with participation in a religious gathering at the town hall.
