Former Lebanese President Amine Gemayel offered condolences at the residence of the late Sheikh Abu Masoud Hani Jaber in Aley. He was received by Aley MP Akram Chehayeb, Mayor of Aley Wajdi Mourad, the late sheikh's son Sheikh Minhal Jaber, Director of Al-Ishraq Tawhid High School Sheikh Walid Al-Jurdi, Internal Affairs Commissioner in the Progressive Socialist Party Youssef Daabes, Head of the Aley Department in the Lebanese Democratic Party Rami Daliqan, and a gathering of sheikhs and prominent figures.
MP Akram Chehayeb welcomed President Gemayel, praising "the virtues of the deceased in benevolence, humanitarian work, and faith that was not shaken by the loss of two sons during and after the war." He recalled that "the first post-war meeting took place in Al-Mukhtara with President Amine Gemayel, and the first communication and joint work in parliamentary life was with President Gemayel and the Kataeb Party, recalling the struggle of the two martyr MPs, Pierre Gemayel and Antoine Ghanem."
Chehayeb emphasized "coexistence and the steadfastness of the relationship with President Gemayel and those he represents."
President Gemayel delivered an emotional speech in which he remembered "the late Sheikh Abu Masoud Hani Jaber, the great figures, and their patriotic stances," stressing "the necessity of solidarity among all Lebanese, both entities and individuals, to rescue Lebanon under these existential circumstances, so that the homeland remains for all its sons, sovereign among nations."
