His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Druze Unitarian Community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, held working meetings at the Community House in Beirut with several committees of the Confessional Council, following the council’s elections last week and in preparation for the launch of their work, which had begun with dedicated committee meetings to elect their rapporteurs.
His Eminence Sheikh Abi Al-Muna began his meetings with the former and newly elected secretaries of the Confessional Council, attorneys Nizar Al-Baradei and Raed Al-Najjar, following a handover ceremony held between them at the secretariat office.

Then, His Eminence Sheikh Abi Al-Muna met with the Cultural Committee in the presence of its chairman, Sheikh Wissam Slayqa, and its rapporteur, retired Brigadier General Ghazi Mahmoud; followed by the Administrative Committee in the presence of its chairman, Dr. Mansour Ashti, and its rapporteur, Mr. Zaher Al-Aawar; then the Social Committee in the presence of its chairwoman, attorney Ghada Joumblatt, and its rapporteur, attorney Mouheeb Abu Zour; followed by the Financial Committee in the presence of its chairman, Dr. Imad Al-Ghusseini, and its rapporteur, Mr. Hikmat Nawfal; and also the Endowments (Awqaf) Committee in the presence of its chairman, attorney Hamada Hamada, and its rapporteur, Sheikh Maqsad Abu Assaf; as well as the Religious Committee in the presence of its chairman, Sheikh Ismat Al-Jurdi, and its rapporteur, Sheikh Nidal Sari Al-Din.

During the meetings, His Eminence the Sheikh Akl praised “the electoral steps and positive milestones that culminated today in the election of the committee rapporteurs in accordance with the Law of the Mashyakhat Al-Akl, and based on the great trust placed, which was manifested in the recent milestone, hoping it will be crowned by achieving the desired goals and hopes pinned on the new council.”

His Eminence called upon “the committees and all members to move forward in strengthening the journey of the Confessional Council and reinforcing the spirit of cooperation, on the path to achieving the intended objectives within the scope of the tasks entrusted to it.”
