He loved religious sciences from an early age and studied for long years at the Khalwat al-Bayada in Hasbaya – Lebanon. Sheikh #Salman_Nasr
was born in 1874 in Shefa-'Amr – Galilee.
He was raised in a generous, welcoming home, and his father, Nasr al-Saad, served as the mukhtar of the #Druze_Community for an extended period.
Despite his qualifications and reputation, Sheikh Salman rose above religious and social offices, choosing to dedicate himself entirely to learning and religion.
He became proficient in the fundamentals of religion and maintained strong ties with sheikhs across Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine.
He was distinguished by a strong personality, eloquence of speech, and sound judgment.
His home became a destination for resolving disputes among people of different communities, and holders of high office consulted him on critical matters.
In 1936, he visited Lebanon along with Sheikh Amin Tarif.
During that visit, he, Sheikh Amin Tarif, and Sheikh Abu Hassan Aref Halawa were invested with the rounded turban (al-imama al-mudawwara), the highest religious honor among the Druze.
During periods of tension and unrest across the country, he exerted significant efforts to bring calm and reconciliation.
He played an important role in the issues facing his town and community, living modestly, devoutly, ascetically, and full of love for others.
He earned universal affection for his spirituality, simplicity, and sincerity of purpose.
He passed away on January 19, 1968, at the age of 94. His funeral was attended by large crowds, and Sheikh Amin Tarif eulogized him in moving words.
He was laid to rest at the entrance of his home to remain a lasting symbol and memory.
