Days pass and years roll by, yet hearts still beat with loyalty and longing for that lofty mountain, the monotheistic light that filled the horizons with wisdom, piety, and serenity. In these days of October, we recall with great reverence and humility the anniversary of the passing of the Master of the Island and the Sheikh of the Clan, the one who completed the path of those righteous predecessors, our grandfather and spiritual reference, Sheikh Abu Yusuf Amin Tarif (may the Lord sanctify his soul and keep the blessing of his memory upon us).

The passing of His Eminence the Sheikh on October 2, 1993, was an event for which flags and hearts were lowered. His absence created a great void that still stirs the soul; he, may God have mercy on him, was a school in itself of monotheism, asceticism, sincerity of determination, and purity of conduct. He led the community with great wisdom and firm steadfastness for nearly seven decades, and lived for nearly ninety-five years, spending them entirely in obedience to God, serving the children of Bani Ma'ruf, safeguarding their sanctities, preserving their unity, and protecting their identity across borders and countries, advocating for peace and security without discrimination or violence.

What our master, Sheikh Abu Yusuf, left behind is not merely a passing memory, but a deeply rooted monotheistic heritage that provides light in the darkness of time. He was the primary, preeminent scholar; the pure, brilliant, and radiant one; and the rare, exquisite jewel who enjoyed the love and respect of everyone—leaders, sheikhs, and common people alike—due to the graces, keen vision, and foresight that the Lord of the Worlds bestowed upon him.

May God have mercy on the Master of the Island, benefit us with his blessings and contentment, and grant his pure soul a place in His vast paradise. He will remain the "Book of Piety" and the beacon of guidance that never fades.
