Post and Critique | "The Room of the Unmarried... and the Funeral of Minds!"
In a new episode of the "Post and Critique" program, we pause at a harsh social term used for women who have not married, or who have divorced or been widowed, as if their value and status are linked to the presence of a man in their lives!
A post in one of the women's groups opened the door to a discussion about what is called the "Room of the Unmarried," revealing through the comments the extent of the conflict between social norms and women's rights, and between societal judgments and human dignity.
Is it reasonable for one's marital status to turn into a stigma, and for a woman to feel like a stranger in her own home because she has not married or her marriage has ended?
In this episode, we discuss how some customs turn into judgments that restrict women and diminish their value, and we remind viewers that dignity is not measured by a wedding ring, nor is it defined by the gaze of society.
"Post and Critique"... because some terms are not just words, but a mirror to a mindset that is high time to be reviewed.
