In a new episode of the "Basma" (Imprint) program, we highlight the journey of Dr. Imad Abboud, a native of As-Suwayda and a neurosurgeon who took his scientific expertise to the United States of America and left a prominent mark in the field of advanced surgical training.
He began his journey at the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University, graduating in 1986, before obtaining the Syrian Board in Neurosurgery in 1993, then setting off for the United States to pursue his scientific career.
Abboud distinguished himself through his contribution to developing a model that simulates real surgical conditions, helping surgeons train for delicate and dangerous situations. He received an American patent in 2004, and another in 2012 for a specialized medical innovation.
Despite his success and innovations, he remained loyal to his roots, returning to As-Suwayda to provide free medical consultations to its people, combining scientific excellence with humanitarian responsibility.
A story that proves a true footprint is measured not only by the scale of achievement, but by the impact we leave on the lives of others.
