Nibal Al-Nabwani.. A Human Story Between Pain, Writing, and Belonging
In this episode of the Rihla program on the Kayan 24 platform, we host writer and activist Nibal Al-Nabwani in a human dialogue that moves away from titles and public positions to get closer to Nibal the person, her experiences, her fears, and her personal questions.
We pause with her to discuss the impact of her upbringing and education on shaping her personality, her relationship with her family and her motherhood, and her attachment to the love of the mountain and "basil" despite the harshness of events and the shifting of her relationship with the homeland. We also discuss her experience with illness and the transformations it left in her perspective on life, loss, and tolerance.
We open a space to talk about writing as a means of understanding, resistance, and self-restoration, and about justice, fairness, women's rights, and the ethics of difference in a time of division.
A dialogue about the human being behind the positions, and about the ability to maintain love, freedom, and loyalty to one's roots, no matter how burdened we are by life's experiences.
