Faisal Salim Al-Dawood, a former MP for the Druze seat in the Rashaya District, and head of the Lebanese Arab Struggle Movement.
He was born in the town of Halwa on August 19, 1949. He received his primary education at the Al-Dawoodiya School in Abey, and his middle and high school education at the Evangelical College in Zahle.
He earned a degree in Arabic literature and political and economic sciences from the Lebanese University, and pursued graduate studies at Ain Shams University on "The Arab World, the era between Gamal Abdel Nasser and Hafez al-Assad."
He worked in administrative positions, serving as a department head in the Parliament, then as Chairman of the Board and Director of the Shamsin Water Authority. He founded and headed the "Lebanese Arab Struggle Movement."
Parliamentary Service
He was appointed as an MP in 1991, then elected for the Rashaya and Western Bekaa district in the 1992 term, for the Bekaa Governorate in 1996, and for the Rashaya and Western Bekaa district in the 2000 term.
He participated in the work of parliamentary committees, serving as a member of the Committees on Public Works, Transport, Housing, Cooperatives, Water and Electrical Resources, Planning and Development, Women and Children, and as a rapporteur for the National Defense and Security Committee. He was also a member of the Rashaya and Western Bekaa parliamentary bloc.
