Tourist destinations in Lebanon are abundant and distinguished by their diversity. Each region differs from another in various respects; however, the Chouf region retains its own special charm. In addition to the renowned hospitality of its people, it stands out from other areas through environmental protection and nature conservation, and a single day in Chouf brings you back to life and its essence.

The director of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve, Nizar Hani, points out that the Chouf is a vast region, and you can visit the cedar reserve within it, in addition to archaeological and heritage landmarks in several villages and towns, especially in Beiteddine and Deir El Qamar, as well as visit the magnificent rivers in Barouk, Baakline, and Jahlieh, and you can also head to the sea in Jiyeh and Damour.
He adds in an interview with mtv website: “Visitors to the area can also participate in local festivals, as there are more than 35 local festivals that will take place in the towns surrounding the reserve, where heritage and traditions are highlighted, and local products are promoted”.
What activities can you enjoy in the Shouf Cedar Reserve? “Activities include hiking, cycling, in addition to visiting farmers' markets featuring natural produce and goods”.
Among the new activities are paragliding in Barouk, and safaris in the reserve and surrounding towns using equipped vehicles, and the reserve will also host a “Yoga Festival” for relaxation and enjoying nature, as Hani reveals.
After the Chouf cedars, you can head to Moukhtara to visit the Moukhtara Palace, and the famous trail located in the Barouk River valley where the old bridge and wonderful sights are found.

Do not miss out on a trip of a lifetime to a region whose charm will surely captivate you, and you will not regret visiting it; a visit to Chouf is enough to give you a sense of comfort to forget your worries in our crisis-burdened country.
