Omens of the expected hunger revolution in Syria,

Voices are rising in Syrian cities threatening a hunger revolution within Sunni circles, and indeed across all of Syria as well. In this regard, we say:

The fiscal and economic policy pursued by the transitional authority is a flawed and impractical policy, and it is what causes the poverty, hunger, and all the woes that the Syrian people are suffering from,

This requires the free Sunnis in Syria to coordinate with As-Suwayda and other Syrian national minority circles.

One hundred years ago, a group of free Sunnis came to As-Suwayda for a Syrian national conference held in the village of Rima al-Fakhour, including Sheikh Muhammad al-Ashmar, Nazih al-Muayyad al-Azm, Abd al-Rahman al-Shahbandar, Nasib al-Bakri, and others. They agreed to cooperate with the free people of the Mountain community, led by Sultan Pasha al-Atrash in 1925, against the French occupation...

Now, a similar stand of dignity is required from the free Sunnis,

And coordination with the free people of As-Suwayda to transition Syria into a democratic, decentralized state of equal and participatory citizenship, otherwise, everything we have is heading backward...
